FAQ

Questions We Hear A Lot

Will it remove Skunk odor?

No. Skunk spray isn’t caused by bacteria or fungus, so STANK isn’t designed to neutralize it. But we do have a tried-and-true skunk recipe:

Mix equal parts:


  • 1/3 dish soap

  • 1/3 Arm & Hammer baking soda

  • 1/3 hydrogen peroxide (3%)

Work the mixture thoroughly into the affected coat, avoiding the eyes, nose and mouth, then rinse really well. Mix it fresh and use it immediately—don’t store the mixture in a closed container.

THEN use STANK. Skunk removal is an aggressive (but effective!) clean, so your dog’s skin and coat will be in serious need of some TLC. Follow with STANK to gently cleanse and condition the skin and coat.

First, de-skunk. Then, STANK.

How often should I use STANK?


It depends on your pet. Use it whenever they need a wash, or more frequently when dealing with excess oil, odor or buildup. Once things settle down, STANK can simply become part of their regular bathing routine.



Why is STANK unscented?


Because fragrance doesn’t make your pet clean—it just makes them smell fragranced. Added fragrances can also be a source of skin irritation or allergic reactions. STANK is intentionally unscented because we’re here to clean and condition the skin and coat, not cover them in perfume. THAT SAID, YES - BY CUSTOMER DEMAND - WE ARE WORKING ON A SCENTED VARIATION.

What makes STANK effective on problem skin, yet gentle enough for healthy skin and coats?

It’s all about the ingredients. Coconut oil naturally contains fatty acids, including lauric acid, with antimicrobial and antifungal properties, while also helping condition and soften the skin and coat. Honey is a natural humectant, helping skin retain moisture, and is known for its antimicrobial properties.

Together with STANK’s gentle cleansing base, these ingredients help remove excess oils, buildup and microbial load while replenishing and conditioning the skin.
